Sunday Sonnet: Robert Frost

May 19, 2013/ Rosemary DiBattista

Here's one that everybody loves, perfect for a spring day when everything is in bloom:

Nature's first green is gold,  DSCN0631

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf's a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.
